Key Action 1 is renewed in the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 programme thanks to the introduction of blended intensive programmes (BIPs). BIPs involve short periods of face-to-face activities combined with online learning and cooperation, in which joint groups of students, teaching staff and administrative staff from different countries can participate to collaborate on specific tasks collectively and simultaneously.
In BIPs, the virtual component is mandatory, and the use of digital technologies allows the institutions involved to improve their ability to implement innovative teaching and learning methods and to reach a larger number of learners, including students from subject areas with limited mobility opportunities.
Blended intensive programmes must award at least 3 ECTS credits to students.
