The Bovec Summer University Courses, also known as Bovec Summer School or Bovec Poletna Šola, take place in the small alpine village of Bovec (Plezzo in Italian; Flitsch in German), in the upper Sava Valley in Slovenia, near the Italian and Austrian borders, and are aimed particularly at university students from the multinational Alpe-Adria area (Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Croatia).
The aim is to promote and deepen mutual knowledge of the languages, cultures, and historical, economic, and social events of the populations of the neighboring regions in the Alpe-Adria area.
The Summer School lasts two weeks and is organized by the University of Klagenfurt (Austria), in collaboration with the Universities of Trieste, Udine (Italy), Ljubljana, and Koper (Slovenia), under the patronage of the Austrian Ministry for Education, Science, and Culture.
