2025/2026 Call for Applications Summer School Bovec

The Bovec Summer University Courses, also known as the Bovec Summer School or Bovec Poletna Šola, take place in the small Alpine village of Bovec (Plezzo in Italian; Flitsch in German), in the upper Isonzo Valley in Slovenia, near the Italian and Austrian borders, and are aimed specifically at university students from the Alpe-Adria region (Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Croatia).
The aim is to promote and deepen mutual understanding of the languages, cultures and historical, economic and social developments of the peoples of the neighbouring regions in the Alpe-Adria area.

Each year, a variety of cultural, social and historical themes are explored, using a multicultural and multilingual approach. The courses include lectures, conferences, seminars, workshops and field trips, and are delivered in Italian, Slovenian, German, Croatian and Friulian.

The Summer School lasts two weeks and is organised by the University of Klagenfurt (Austria), in collaboration with the Universities of Trieste and Udine (Italy), and Ljubljana and Koper (Slovenia), under the patronage of the Austrian Ministry of Education, Science and Culture.

The study places available cover the costs of board, lodging and course fees. The Summer School entitles participants to 3 ECTS credits.
